Examining the History of Divine Religion: Theological Relations of Judaism, Christianity and Islam according to William Montgomery Watt

This paper discusses the thoughts of Montgomery Watt about Islamic studies, especially Watt's opinion regarding relationship between three divine religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam). study aims to show that not all orientalists are subjective in studying Islam. Watt, for example, his research tries be objective by taking sources from Islam itself. The method used this is descriptive analysis, which a qualitative concerning library sources. Then data was analyzed using Huberman & Miles went through stages: reduction, presentation, conclusions or verification. results Muslims have same theological relations religion, Judaism, similarity terms essence samawi religion brought Ibrahim, also called millah Ibrahim Hanifa. Tulisan ini membahas mengenai pemikiran dalam kaitannya dengan kajian Islam, khususnya pendapat hubungan antara ketiga agama (Yahudi, Kristen dan Tujuan penelitian untuk menunjukkan bahwa tidak semua orientalis bersikap subyektif mengkaji misalnya yang penelitiannya berusaha obyektif mengambil sumber-sumber dari itu sendiri. Metode digunakan ialah deskriptif-analisis, yaitu metode kualitatif merujuk pada kepustakaan (library research). Kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis melewati tiga tahapan, reduksi data, penyajian kesimpulan atau verifikasi.
